Delete your account
You can delete your Gym+ account at any time, from inside the app or by email. This page explains both paths, the timeline, what is erased and what we are required to keep.
Deleting the account does not cancel the subscription. They are two separate things, controlled by different systems: the account is ours, billing belongs to Apple or Google. If you want to stop paying, cancel in the store as well — the steps are in the terms of use. Cancel first, delete afterwards.
Path 1 — in the app
- Open Gym+ and sign in to your account.
- Go to the Your rhythm screen, the same one that holds the subscription, the terms and the privacy policy.
- Tap Delete online account.
- Confirm in the dialog that appears by tapping Delete account.
Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. You are signed out straight away.
Path 2 — by email, without opening the app
If you have already uninstalled the app, lost the device or simply prefer it, write to privacy@gymplus.life:
- Send it from the same email address registered on the account. That is how we confirm the account is yours.
- Subject: Account deletion.
- If you cannot write from the account's address — for example because you signed in with Apple and hid your email — say so in the message and we will ask for some extra confirmation before deleting. This protects you from someone deleting your account without your permission.
Timeline
- In the app: immediate.
- By email: we acknowledge receipt within 2 business days and complete the deletion within 15 calendar days. That is the LGPD deadline for answering a data subject; the GDPR allows up to one month, and we still work to the 15 days.
What is erased
- Your account on our server, with the email address and the identifier that Apple or Google gave us.
- The link between you and the subscription, and the purchase data the store returned to us.
- Your invitation code and the referral programme's installation markers. Open invitations linked to your account are closed.
What is not erased, and why
| What | Why | For how long |
|---|---|---|
| An irreversible purchase marker (tombstone): a cryptographic digest of the account identifier and the subscription key, with no email and no name | To stop a subscription that has already been used from being transferred or reused on another account. Without it, deleting the account would become a way to dodge billing. | Indefinitely |
| Tax record of the payment | Legal obligation to keep accounting and tax records — not our choice. | For the period required by the applicable tax legislation |
| The purchase record at Apple or Google | It belongs to the store, not to us. The store keeps it under its own policy. | As the store decides |
The purchase marker cannot be used to re-identify you, recover your email or restore anything that was yours. It only answers one question: “has this subscription already been used by some account?”.
And what is on your device
Your training log, history, routines, profile, photos, measurements and notes stay on the device — they were never with us, so they are not erased when the account is deleted. To remove them:
- Export first, if you want to keep them: the app itself produces a file with your history.
- Then uninstall the app. Its private storage leaves the device with it.
Health data read from Apple Health or Health Connect belongs to those apps and stays there. To delete it, use the system health app itself.
If you signed in with Apple or Google, you can also remove Gym+ from the apps connected to your account: on iPhone, in Settings → your name → Sign in with Apple; for Google, at myaccount.google.com → Security → Third-party apps & services.
Other rights
Besides deletion, you can ask for access, correction, portability and information about sharing. Your full rights, under the LGPD and the GDPR, are in the privacy policy.
If something goes wrong
If the deletion fails, if you do not get an answer in time or if you have any question, write to privacy@gymplus.life or use the support page.
